Class A Motorhomes - Luxury, Style & Performance!
Class A motorhomes are at the top of the list when it comes to luxury, style and performance in the RV world. Units range in weight from 15,000 to 35,000 pounds and stretch from 28 to 45 feet in length. Class A motorhomes are perfect for people wanting to travel long distances for extended periods of time.
There is no comparison between driving a Class A motorhome as compared to driving a smaller Class C motorhome. Most will agree a Class A motorhome handles best on the road with a level of comfort that is hard to beat.
Class A motorhomes come with every conceivable feature from heated floors and stylish lighting fixtures to solar panels for those wanting to get off the beaten path. The options are endless and most RV manufacturers equip their coaches to offer satellite TV, Internet and surround sound.
Most Class A motorhomes come equipped with a queen or king size bed, full size showers, tubs, washer/ dryer and appliances. A common feature in Class A motorhomes is slide-outs, which extend the living and sleeping areas. Once parked at your favorite destination you can extend the slide-outs with a touch of a button and you have added more living space.
Advantages: Many RV manufacturers are designing more aerodynamic models which are more fuel efficient compared to a few years ago. Factories are also using lighter weight materials along with better insulation to keep out noise and lower costs for cooling or heating. There is greater towing capability with a Class A and more storage space for all your belongings. They handle great on the road and the view from the driver’s seat is awesome when driving. Most kitchens in a Class A surpass many kitchens in residential homes today.
Class C Motorhomes - Affordable & Family Friendly
Class C motorhomes offer many of the same luxuries and conveniences of larger and more costly Class A motorhomes. A Class C motorhome is built on a van-type chassis with a van cab for driver and passenger. They range in weight from 10,000 to 25,000 pounds and stretch from 20 feet to 43 feet in length.
Class C motorhomes are usually equipped with a sleeping area above the cab, in addition to a bedroom in the rear of the unit. Like their Class A motorhomes, many Class C units feature a slide-out to quickly extend the motorhome's living space.
Advantages: Class C motorhomes cost less compared to Class A motorhomes. On average they achieve better fuel mileage and they are shorter in length, which makes them easier to maneuver. The large space above the cab provides additional sleeping space which is ideal for larger families. Many drivers feel more comfortable driving a Class C motorhome compared to a larger Class A motorhome.
Travelling from Ouray to Durango CO my wife complained that I never let her drive, so she took the wheel on ONE OF AMERICA's MOST TREACHEROUS DRIVES, the Million Dollar Highway. She had a blast and tells everyone how easy it was to drive. Wherever we go people are amazed at the luxury, quality, use of space, fit and finish. Class B motorhomes is the least defined class in the RV industry, sometimes defined as a “camper van or small conversion van.” Class B motorhomes can range from an old VW van to the latest conversion of a large van, which can still be classified as a “van.” These types of motorhomes are forging ahead with slide-outs and features which used to be only available in Class C motorhomes.
